TVs and monitors without Dolby Vision (and how to set up the VRROOM fix)
Unlike projectors, most TVs do support Dolby Vision — but two large groups consistently do not: Samsung’s entire TV lineup, and most 4K/8K HDR gaming monitors. Below: exactly how to set up the VRROOM’s LLDV enabler for either one, plus a checked list of 47 TVs and monitors, each sourced to the manufacturer’s own spec page, with its own dedicated setup page.
Every model below is sourced to the manufacturer’s own official spec page or spec sheet — no third-party reviews — and each model also has its own dedicated setup page (linked from its name below). Several monitor models are deliberately left off because their maker’s own spec page only cites a VESA DisplayHDR certification tier rather than naming HDR10 explicitly, which is not a strong enough citation for this page’s claim. Hisense and TCL are deliberately left off entirely: current models across both brands, even budget ones, generally do include Dolby Vision, so they are not a good fit for this page. If your exact model is not listed, check its own official spec sheet for “Dolby Vision” — if it is absent and HDR10 is present, the trick below still applies.
How to set up LLDV on your TV or monitor
Same trick as on a projector, same three parts: your source player does the Dolby Vision tone mapping, the VRROOM tells the player it’s allowed to, and your TV or monitor receives what looks like an ordinary HDR10 signal.
1. On your player: nothing special, just enable Dolby Vision
Apple TV 4K, an Oppo or Panasonic Blu-ray player, a Kaleidescape, an NVIDIA Shield and others already know how to output Dolby Vision — they just need to see a display that claims Dolby Vision support in its EDID before they will (that claim is the VRROOM’s job, step 2). 2. On the VRROOM: give the player a Dolby Vision EDID
Open the VRROOM’s web server and go to the EDID tab. Quickest route: assign Custom EDID 5 (Sony A1 LLDV, DCI-P3) or Custom EDID 10 (Sony A1 LLDV, BT.2020) to the input your player is connected to — both are ready-made LLDV EDIDs, nothing else to configure. For more control, use Copy TX Sink EDID and Modify with DV set to Custom DV, then build your own datablock (primaries, backlight, Max/Min Luminance) in the DV tab. Then, in the HDR/AVI tab, turn on “Use custom HDR for TX0 and TX1 when input is LLDV” so the VRROOM switches your display’s HDR mode on automatically whenever the incoming signal is LLDV. Restart your player after changing the EDID. Full detail: the EDID section, the DV section and the HDR/AVI section of the manual, or the LLDV>HDR10 FAQ for the short version and the default 1000-nit Max Luminance value most users should leave alone.
3. On your TV or monitor: usually nothing at all
Your display only ever sees an HDR10 signal and shows it as HDR10 — there is no Dolby Vision setting to find. Leave it in its normal HDR10/auto picture mode. The one exception: TVs and monitors without automatic HDR-mode switching may need HDR forced on manually in their picture menu, since LLDV does not always carry the same HDR info-frame as standard HDR10.
Samsung (TVs)
Samsung has never supported Dolby Vision on any TV, at any price point, backing HDR10+ instead — company policy confirmed as current through Samsung’s November 2025 HDR10+ Advanced announcement.

Sony and LG entry tiers
Sony and LG are not whole-brand cases — their flagship and mid TVs do support Dolby Vision. Only their entry LED/LCD tiers drop it, so check your exact model.

Gaming and desktop monitors
Dolby Vision licensing is uncommon on PC monitors. This list only includes models whose own maker explicitly names HDR10 on their spec page — several well-known gaming monitors are deliberately left off because their spec pages cite only a VESA DisplayHDR certification tier without naming HDR10 itself, which we treat as too weak a citation for this page. One caveat regardless: even within a single line, sibling SKUs can differ — always check the exact model number.
