Roku Ultra and 4K sticks with the HDfury VRROOM
Roku players are strict about HDCP 2.2 in the whole chain — exactly the thing the VRROOM handles for you.
Settings on the Roku side
Per Roku’s official 4K HDR setup page, the display mode lives under Settings > Display Type — switch between 4K HDR, 4K or 1080p if you see a grey or unstable picture. Roku’s stated requirements: “a 4K HDR TV with an HDMI 2.0 port and HDCP 2.2 support”, “a Premium High Speed HDMI Cable”, and that all connected devices support “HDMI 2.0 and HDCP 2.2”.
On the VRROOM side
The VRROOM satisfies Roku’s chain requirement on every port — and goes further with the HDCP Doctor: “It is capable of connecting any HDCP1.x or HDCP2.x source devices to any HDCP1.x or HDCP 2.x sink devices” with conversion in both directions. So a Roku demanding HDCP 2.2 can still feed an older 1.4 display through the VRROOM — see the HDCP chapter.
For the picture itself no special VRROOM setting is needed: the default EDID presents full 4K HDR capabilities, and if the Roku misbehaves you can fall back to the safe test EDID — the “security EDID to ensure a picture in every setup/situation” from the EDID chapter.
